FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions.
Here are some common questions about your villa holiday in Lanzarote.

The villas.

How far are the villas from the airport?
Villas de la Marina are located in Playa Blanca, which is merely a 30 minute drive from the airport
How far is the supermarket, bars, restaurants, beach and town centre?
We are literaly a 5-7 minutes walk away from the supermarket and the many bars, restaurants and shops located in Marina Rubicón. The nearest beach is Playa Dorada, which is just over a 10 minute walk, and the town centre of Playa Blanca is a 15 minute walk away.
Do all the villas have private pool?
All the villas have a private pool and garden and terrace area equiped with barbaque, sunbeds and sunroof (except Villa 2 – The Ketch, which has a sun umbrella instead of a sun roof).
Are the pools heated in winter time?
All our villas have a heat pump to heat the pool and you can select this option at the time of booking for an extra charge of 100€ per week (or 15€ per day). The average temperature of the water thanks to the heat pump is between 26º and 27º Celsius.
Do all the villas have private parking?
All the villas except Villa 6 – Xebec have a private parking space. In any case, Villa number 6 is located in a quiet dead-end street with almost no traffic, and it’s perfectly ok to leave your rent-a-car right at the doorstep of the entrance of the villa.
Do the villas have hairdryer/Smart TV/soundsystem/etc?
You can check what is provided in each house on the profile page of each villa. In any case, should you have any doubts you can always drop us a line.
I have small children, are the villas safe for them?

Over the past years, we’ve had kids of all ages in the villa with no problem whatsoever. Tables and chairs in the living room all have rounded edges, and even though most bedrooms are upstairs, we can provide a security gate for the stairs should you feel safer that way. Bear in mind that only the pool of Villa Lugger is fenced, so ideally you should keep the doors to the terrace closed if your children can’t swim yet.

Are the villas disabled friendly?

All our two-bedroom villas have the bedrooms upstairs, so they are not apt for people with severe mobility disability. On the other side, our three-bedroom villas do have a bedroom downstairs, and Villa Schooner is prepared to be used for people on wheelchairs, with direct step free access from the parking to the bedroom, and a bathroom designed to be used even on a wheelchair.

Is the Air Conditioning coin-operated? Can it heat too?
Air conditioned in the houses used to be coin operated, but not anymore. We trust that in order to keep it this way our guests will make an effort to avoid misuse and will keep the doors and windows closed while the air conditioning is active.
There are three machines in each house (four on the three-bedroom villas) and all of them can be used to cool or to heat.
Is it possible to stay more than 4 people on the villa?

Unless you’re staying in Villa Schooner or Villa Lugger (our three-bedroom villas), it is commonly not possible. Even if the houses have a sofa bed they are not prepared for more than 4 people, so only under exceptional circumstances we will allow a booking of more than 4 people on a two-bedroom villa. Please contact us and explain us your case before booking.

Our services.

Can I get an early check-in/late check-out?
Both an early check-in and late check-out are totally free of charge but arranging this will depend on whether there are other guests checking out on the morning of your arrival or checking-in the same day you leave. Please let us know your estimated arrival and departure time, and the week before your arrival we will let you know if this is possible. Should it not be possible, we have a storage room where you would be able to leave your luggage upon your arrival/departure.
My flight is arriving late at night, how can I enter the villa?
We will send you all the arrival information at least a week before your arrival date, but in any case we will leave the keys and remote for the gate on the safebox located right outside the villa, so you can enter at any time. Please leave the key in the same place when you leave the villa on your departure day.
Do you provide towels and bedding?
Yes, we do provide both towels for the pool and bathroom, as well as all the necessary bedding.
Do you provide a cot and high chair?
Yes, should you request it we can provide a cot with all the bedding, as well as a high chair for your baby. We can also provide a baby bath and baby towel, and all villas have a blender on the kitchen so you can prepare the food for your baby.
Do you provide a welcome pack?
Yes, we do provide a welcome pack mainly thinking on those of you who might arrive late. Expect some fruit, milk, water, juice, loaf of bread, coffee, tea, jam, nesquick and olives, as well as some cooking basics like oil, vinegar, pepper and salt. Should you need anything else that’s not listed here, just let us know.
Will I get a cleaning service with the villa?
The villa will be fully cleaned upon your arrival and just as you leave. For reservations of more than 7 nights we provide a free midweek cleaning halfway during your stay where we will change your towels, bedding and clean the bathrooms and kitchen. Should you require this type of service even when staying 7 nights or less, just select it during your booking process.
Do I have to clean the swimming pool?
Our in-house personnel is present on site from 7 a.m. until 2pm. Pool cleaning and garden maintenance takes place until midday, but they are available until 2pm should you need any further assistance.

The booking process.

Can I choose the villa I want to stay on?

Provided there’s availability on that villa, you can definitely book the villa you like best, but bear in mind that selecting your villa is more expensive than getting assigned one by us, due to the increase of empty nights when guests get to choose the villa.
Should you pick the “2-Bedroom Villa Rate” or “3-Bedroom Villa Rate” and decide not to book a particular villa, you can request your preferences and we will take them into consideration when assigning your reservation to a house, but matching your reservation with other arrivals and departures and minimising the number of empty nights is what ultimately sets what villa you will be assigned to.

Is it safe to book online?
It is totally safe to book online through our web, as all the booking process, provided by our partner Cloudbeds, is protected by https technology and tokenization, and the payment gateway is provided by Stripe, the leading virtual payment gateway provider. In any case, should you feel more comfortable booking over the phone, don’t hesitate to call us.
Do I have to pay you in advance if I book through your website?
Due to the characteristics of Lanzarote as a destination and the difficulty to re-sell the availability should you cancel on the last minute, in order to confirm your booking we always take a deposit of 30% of the total of your reservation. This will happen regardless of whether you book on our website or with third-party platforms like Booking.com (some platforms like Airbnb might even take 100% at the time of booking). This deposit will be immediately refunded should you cancel more than 60 days before your arrival day. The 70% outstanding will have to be paid at least the day before your arrival. In any case, please check our full booking and cancellation policies page.
